The title of this post, “Hello world!”, is appropriate for a brand new baby blog that’s only a few weeks old. The title came with the sample page from WordPress. I love it because it’s a bit ironic. As a systems administrator in one of my past lives, the first script you generally learn in Unix is entitled Hello World. So as I started off my career with Unix, so I am starting off my career in blogging. So, maybe not irony, but definitely coincidence.
I am indeed an introvert. Zen? In the strictest sense of the word, no. Regarding the Urban Dictionary’s first and second definitions, we’re getting closer. Introversion and calm do not necessarily go hand in hand. It’s a long journey to be at peace with being a quiet soul despite what the outer world thinks a person should be. The intent of this blog is not to teach Zen Buddhism, but to pass on things I’ve learned in the course of my life that I feel may help others to become a little more zen (a.k.a peaceful, organized and centered). If a post is helpful to you, then Yay!, I’ve done my job. If not, keep the faith and some future post may just rings some bells.
Does being a zen introvert mean that I’m peaceful, organized and centered? Again; no, not really but come along with me on the journey. I can say for sure that I have definitely found happiness and contentment, if not downright peace on some days. It’s been a long haul with lots of ups and downs and a ton of discoveries about life, the universe and everything (with apologies to Douglas Adams, but I love that phrase).
Places we will go from here
This will be a journey – sometimes fun, sometimes serious, sometimes downright irreverent.
As a brand new blog, some features may not be in place when you get here. Check back in, eventually I’ll have everything online. A mentor told me never to compare my beginning to someone’s middle. Very wise words, indeed.
So here it is for you, my beginning.
Love and Peace,
